ILLNESS FATAL TO J.H. HOLLOWAY, JR.
J.H. Holloway, Jr., 31, general manager of the National Theatre Supply company
of Charlotte, N.C. and a native of Ellaville, died Wednesday at 12 o'clock at
a Charlotte hospital after an extended critical illness. Ellaville members of
his family were called to his bedside Sunday as he grew steadily weaker. The
family left Charlotte Thursday with his body for funeral services here.
Arrangements were incomplete yesterday afternoon, pending their arrival, but
services were planned for the residence this morning (Friday) at 10:30
o'clock. The Rev. Hugh Dozier will officiate, being assisted by the Rev. W.S.
Johnson. Born February 10, 1909, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.H.
Holloway, prominent Ellaville citizens. He attended the Georgia School of
Technology at Atlanta. For the past six years Mr. Holloway had been connected
with the National Theatre Supply company, with headquarters at Charlotte,
N.C., rising to the general managership of the Charlotte office. In July
1936, he married Miss Blanche Hamil of Charlotte. Mr. Holloway was a member
of the Ellaville Baptist church. Survivors besides his parents include one
sister, Mrs. George B. Perry of Ellaville; two nieces, Marianne Holloway, of
Atlanta and Mary Frances Perry, of Ellaville; one nephew, James William Perry,
of Ellaville, and a number of uncles and aunts. A more detailed story will
appear next week.
